2026 Back-to-School In Style

SATURDAY AUGUST 8TH

Join us at the Old Fairgrounds Park in Loveland (700 S Railroad Ave) on Saturday August 8th, from 10am-2pm for the 8th Annual Back-to-School In Style event!

Enjoy a fun-filled day with free backpacks (stuffed with school supplies), free haircuts (to have your students looking their best and feeling confident ahead of the new school year), free food (hotdogs, chips, drinks, and ice cream!), temporary tattoos, kids karaoke, the Bumble Bus, and a whole lot more!

Plus, many of our business sponsors will be hosting the carnival games and giving out goodies!

This year we expect to have over 500 backpacks to distribute, but supplies are limited so make sure to arrive early
as everything is handed out on a first-come-first-served basis!

Annual "Christmas for Every Kid" Event

Date and location TBD -- information coming soon!

Christmas for Every Kid is one of the Colorado SMILES Project’s most heartfelt community initiatives, built around a simple belief: every child deserves the joy and magic of Christmas morning.

Each year, we proudly contribute to the annual Randy Barber Memorial Toy Run, hosted by the High Plains Drifters Motorcycle Club. Through toy drives, donations, and community support, this event helps provide gifts to local children and families during the holiday season.

The Colorado SMILES Project invests in this effort each year with the hope that no child in our community has to wake up on Christmas morning with nothing under the tree. What began as a meaningful local tradition has continued to grow through the generosity of countless supporters, volunteers, and community partners.

In recent years, Toys for Tots has joined as a partner sponsor, greatly expanding the reach and impact of the event. Their involvement has helped us serve even more families and bring hope, joy, and relief to children throughout our community during the holiday season.

Christmas for Every Kid is more than a toy drive — it’s a reminder that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, we can make sure every child feels seen, valued, and remembered.

Annual Nicole DeLosSantos Scholarship Awards

Date and location TBD -- details coming soon!

The Nicole DeLosSantos Scholarship Program was created to honor a woman whose heart for service and dedication to her community helped inspire the very foundation of the Colorado SMILES Project.

Nicole DeLosSantos is a Fort Collins native and the owner of Dynamic Look Natural Impressions Salon. She and Xak first met in high school, and over the years their paths continued to cross through a shared passion for community and helping others.

In 2019, Nicole shared a simple but powerful idea — her salon would collect school supplies for local students and provide complimentary back-to-school haircuts for any child in need. What started as a small act of kindness quickly sparked something much bigger. Inspired by Nicole’s generosity and vision, Xak asked if he and a few friends could help turn the effort into a larger community event for families and students.

That collaboration became Back-to-School In Style — an event that would ultimately serve as the inspiration and foundation for the Colorado SMILES Project itself.

Nicole’s compassion, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to giving back have impacted countless families in Northern Colorado. Naming this scholarship program in her honor is a reflection of the example she continues to set: that one person’s kindness can create lasting change in an entire community.
